What if the game wants you to disobey?

  1. A local starting point

A game teaches you a small world: where to go, what to collect, which rules count. That makes it an interesting place to ask what happens when the rules deserve an argument. Our interest is in that question, rather than in awarding a score.

CanDev’s Digital Dissent brings together seven commissioned microgames. Among them are Go There by Ricky Vuckovic, Blind Eye by Mark Schramm and What Do You Want? by Leah King. The organiser’s page introduces all seven makers and their approaches.

A local starting point

CanDev announces the showcase at the National Film and Sound Archive in Acton on 7, 8, 14 and 15 November 2026, with microtalks on 7 November only. The content includes mature themes; children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

A question to take with you
